Hospital flooring project in Samarkand Uzbekistan

A successful hospital flooring project requires more than selecting a roll of material. Different clinical areas place different demands on the flooring system, while export documentation, product compatibility, logistics and installation planning all influence whether the specified solution can be delivered effectively.
For a major medical project in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, FARFLY worked with our customer to develop a hospital flooring package covering approximately 12,600 square metres. The proposed solution combines homogeneous vinyl flooring for general hospital areas and wards with anti-static PVC flooring for operating rooms.
The project demonstrates how FARFLY supports medical project contractors, procurement companies and hospital end users—not only through flooring production, but also through application analysis, product selection, export documentation and installation planning.

A Historic Medical Institution Moving Toward Modern Healthcare

According to the Samarkand State Medical University’s official introduction, construction of the hospital began in 1926. It opened in 1929 under the nameRepublican Hospital, when Samarkand was the capital of Uzbekistan. After the establishment of the Uzbek State Medical Institute in Samarkand in 1930, the hospital was transferred to the institute and developed into a clinical institution.
Today, the multidisciplinary clinic serves as a medical, teaching and research base. Its official profile lists a wide range of departments, including cardiology, neurology, surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics and intensive care.
The institution has also continued to modernize. In April 2024, the university announced the opening of a five-storey surgical building with 200 beds. In April 2025, the surgical building hosted international programs covering robotic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, urology, gynecology and interventional medicine.
This combination of historical significance and continuing medical development creates demanding requirements for hospital flooring across patient areas, wards and technically sensitive clinical spaces.
Hospital

Multi-party collaboration contributes to project success

FARFLY’s direct customer for this project is a company serving the international medical equipment and healthcare project market.
The hospital is the end user and project owner. Our customer coordinates the procurement and project requirements from China, while FARFLY provides professional support for the flooring package.
In practical terms, the cooperation follows this structure:
Hospital end user/project owner → project contractor → FARFLY flooring solution and supply support
This relationship is common in international healthcare projects. The hospital may define the performance and application requirements, while project contractors need manufacturers that can translate those requirements into suitable products, supporting materials and export documentation.
For FARFLY, this means understanding both sides of the project: the hospital’s needs as the end user and the customer’s responsibilities as the organization coordinating procurement and delivery.
Sometimes, our customers may not have a clear understanding of the exact product requirements for their projects. For example, they may know they need anti-slip flooring but are unsure about the required slip resistance level, or they may need ESD flooring but do not know whether a conductive or static-dissipative solution is more suitable for their application. In some cases, customers simply provide a general requirement, such as “flooring for a hospital project.”
At FARFLY, we believe the right flooring solution starts with understanding the real application requirements. Our team works closely with customers to analyze the specific usage scenarios, climate conditions, traffic levels, maintenance requirements, and other project factors.
Based on our extensive experience in healthcare and high-performance flooring projects worldwide, FARFLY helps customers identify the most suitable flooring system and provides a tailored solution that matches both technical requirements and real project conditions.

Turning Clinical Requirements into a Flooring Solution

Although our customer has experience in exporting medical instruments and regularly handles healthcare procurement, its previous flooring orders were generally smaller. A project of this size required more detailed product and application support.
Rather than asking the customer to select flooring solely from a catalogue, FARFLY communicated with the project parties to understand how different areas would be used. Based on the hospital’s actual requirements, the team developed a more detailed medical flooring proposal.
The solution separates general clinical areas from technically sensitive operating room spaces:
  • Approximately 10,000 m² of homogeneous flooring in colors BNG-6919 and BNG-6905 was selected for general floor areas and patient wards.
  • Approximately 2,000 m² of anti-static flooring in color BNK-1500 was selected for operating rooms.
  • Compatible welding rods and flooring adhesive were included as supporting materials.
Homogeneous vinyl flooring is commonly considered for corridors, wards and other high-traffic healthcare areas because the material structure supports durability and practical maintenance. Heat-welded joints can also help create a continuous surface when the flooring is installed according to the approved method.
Operating rooms may have additional technical requirements. For this reason, the operating room flooring selection was treated separately from the flooring used in general areas. The specified anti-static PVC flooring must be matched with the approved system design, electrical-resistance requirements, adhesive and installation method.

Documentation for an International Medical Project

For an overseas medical project, product selection is only one part of the work. The customer also needs documents that can support export, transportation, customs clearance and project review.
FARFLY organized the available documentation for the main flooring materials and accessories and assisted with documents required for sea and land transportation. This helped our customer coordinate the international supply process and respond to the hospital project’s documentation requirements with greater confidence.
The objective was not simply to provide a stack of certificates. It was to help the customer identify which document applied to which product, accessory or logistics stage.
This structured documentation support reduced the amount of separate coordination required from our customers and made the hospital flooring package easier to manage.

Installation Support Beyond Material Supply

Proper installation has a direct influence on the final performance of vinyl flooring. Subfloor conditions, adhesive selection, material acclimatization, seam grooving and heat welding must all be coordinated with the approved installation requirements.
For this project, the customer worked with an experienced local installation team. FARFLY provided detailed installation instructions, application videos, and technical support materials to ensure smooth communication and execution. The project is not yet completed. FARFLY will continue to provide ongoing support, and we look forward to an excellent finished result
For other project, FARFLY also offer support that an experienced installation team from China could be arranged to travel to the site if required. This commitment gives project contractors and hospital end users another option when experienced local PVC flooring installers are limited or when a technically demanding area requires additional construction support.

What This Project Means for Contractors and Hospital End Users

For a medical project contractor, sourcing hospital flooring from China involves more than comparing unit prices. The contractor needs a supplier that can understand room functions, separate different technical requirements, prepare appropriate documentation and coordinate products with supporting materials.
For a hospital end user, the priorities are different. The hospital needs a medical flooring solution that is selected according to the intended space, supported by clear technical information and installed using the correct method.
FARFLY connects these two sets of requirements.
In the Samarkand project, FARFLY supported our customer by:
  • Reviewing the hospital’s actual application requirements;
  • Separating ward flooring from operating room flooring;
  • Recommending homogeneous flooring and anti-static flooring for different areas;
  • Coordinating PVC flooring, welding rods and adhesive;
  • Organizing product and export documentation;
  • Supporting communication during quotation and confirmation;
  • Offering overseas installation resources when required.
This project reflects FARFLY’s role as more than a vinyl flooring manufacturer. We work with project contractors, distributors, procurement companies and hospital end users to turn project requirements into practical flooring packages.
As your supplier, we aim to reduce uncertainty in project acceptance. Our mission is to give you greater confidence in every project and at every stage of delivery. Ground for Confidence.
